Raven’s Matrices

A key feature of general ability is the power to find new ways to solve a task when we cannot rely on previous knowledge and experience. Research shows that people with a higher general level of ability often solve tasks more quickly and more effectively than others and that they are also more able to take in new knowledge.
 
 
Raven’s classic ability test is one of the best documented non-verbal ability tests in the world. Raven’s matrices measure general ability and the test is available with varying degrees of difficulty. As the test is non-verbal, the test results are not influenced by the linguistic background of the person being tested.
